| WD Partners was tasked by Benihana to develop a theatrical new restaurant design to reinvigorate the 43-year old brand, as well as improve the effectiveness of the restaurants' operations. Innovative Accents was chosen to provide critical components for the brand revitalization. Subsequently, Benihana received awards in three competitions: a First Place, Chain Store Age's "Retail Store of the Year"; an Honorable Mention, Institute of Store Planners/VM+SD International Retail Design Competition; and a Grand Prize from the NASFM (National Assn. of Store Fixture Manufacturers) Retail Design Awards.
